Lies the Republicans told me, Canada edition

with one comment

The coalition of the greedy and the ignorant advocates for its position.

Despite what you might be able to hear amid the cacophony of lies the Republicans are shouting in order to kill any chance at reasonable discourse over reform of the health care system, 86% of Canadians like their health care system.

Here is a piece that debunks some of the lies they’re spreading about single-payer.

And here is a list of questions you can ask your representative at a town hall meeting.

I’d like to see everyone who hates “socialized” medicine so much see to it that the US military and veterans are stripped of it, then renounce their right to Medicare.

  1. Given that the U.S. and Canada do more trade with one another than any other nation, it’s sadly fascinating that the trade in vicious lies about its healthcare and what its residents feel about it are so widely disseminated and so eagerly swallowed. People believe what they want to.
